Spice Box SC205

Handcrafted in tiger maple, this Pennsylvania spice box features a classic multi drawer interior enclosed by a single locking door. At the case, the measurements are 14.5 inches wide by 10 inches deep and 22.5 inches tall. Single wide board walnut panels are used for the case sides and top rather than several boards glued together. Built with traditional joinery, the case features hand cut dovetail construction. The tombstone raised panel door is constructed using through mortise and tenon joinery. Behind the door, the interior drawers are constructed using hand cut dovetails. Two secret compartments are hidden within the case, including a larger space for documents and a smaller dovetailed box for valuables. This entire piece sits on traditional bracket feet and is finished with several coats of hand rubbed shellac and authentic solid brass hardware fixtures are used throughout.

Chests can be built to client specifications in a range of sizes, styles and wood species, including walnut, tiger maple, flame birch, cherry, and mahogany.
