Spice Box sc201

Handcrafted in crotch walnut, this Pennsylvania spice box features a classic multi drawer interior enclosed by a single locking door. Overall measurements are 14 inches wide by 10 inches deep and 20 inches tall. Single wide board walnut boards are used for the case sides and top rather than several boards glued together. Built with traditional joinery, the case features hand cut dovetail construction. The bold tombstone raised panel door is constructed using unique mitered through mortise and tenon joinery. Behind the door, the interior configuration consists of three pigeon holes and eight small drawers with hand cut dovetail construction. Three hand dovetailed secret boxes are contained within the case framework. This entire piece sits on hand turned bun feet and is finished with several coats of hand rubbed shellac and authentic solid brass hardware fixtures throughout.

Chests can be built to client specifications in a range of sizes, styles and wood species, including walnut, tiger maple, flame birch, cherry, and mahogany.
