Philadelphia Savery Low Chest CH206B
This Philadelphia low chest is an exact reproduction of a 1760 original by William Savery. Built in walnut, the case features a single board top and sides with a mortise and tenon face frame. The case measures 32 inches wide, 31 inches tall, and 20 inches deep, while the top measures 36 inches wide by 22 inches deep. Hand cut dovetails are used for both the case and the drawers, which feature solid crotch walnut fronts with molded lipped edges. The top is accented with hand carved pinched corners, and the quarter columns are shaped from solid stock. The chest rests on bold ogee bracket feet and is finished with several coats of hand rubbed shellac and solid brass Chippendale pulls.
Chests can be built to client specifications in a range of sizes, styles and wood species, including walnut, tiger maple, flame birch, cherry, and mahogany.
