Philadelphia Card Table T150A

This Philadelphia card table is built in mahogany and crotch mahogany using deep mortise and tenon joinery. The white oak swing leg uses a heavy wood hinge, as on the original. The legs are shaped and carved by hand from matching three inch thick stock, and the front apron is carved entirely by hand. The top and leaf are solid, bookmatched mahogany crotch boards. The table is a reproduction of an original at Winterthur. This table is shown under construction on my The Process page. Dimensions are 32.75" deep when top is open, 34" wide, and 27.5" high. The table is finished with multiple coats of hand rubbed shellac.

Tables can be built to client specifications in a range of sizes and wood species, including walnut, tiger maple, flame birch, cherry, and mahogany. Additional table designs may be viewed here.
