Pennsylvania Double Dresser ch307b
This Philadelphia Chippendale double dresser is handcrafted in mahogany and features a case with a single wide board top and sides. Measuring 64 inches wide, 36 inches tall, and 19.5 inches deep, the case is built with a mortise and tenon face frame and hand cut dovetails. The top measures 66.5 inches wide by 21.25 inches deep. The front corners are accented by fluted quarter columns, and the crotch mahogany drawer fronts feature molded lipped edges and hand cut dovetails. The chest rests on ogee bracket feet and is finished with several coats of hand rubbed shellac and solid brass bail and rosette pulls. A matching Chippendale low chest/dresser was built for the same client and can be viewed here.
