Handcrafted in highly figured curly mahogany, this custom mid-century modern desk is styled after an original design by Austrian born Swedish architect and designer Josef Frank.

The case top and sides are veneered using thick, shop made veneers. All lumber and veneers were sourced from a single board to ensure flawless color and grain continuity. The overall measurements are 60 inches wide by 27 inches deep and 29.5 inches tall. Built with traditional joinery, the support framework features solid mahogany legs and stretchers secured with deep mortise and tenon joints. The drawers incorporate hand cut dovetail construction to ensure structural longevity. This piece is finished with several hand rubbed coats of lacquer to protect the wood and accentuate the vibrant depth of the curly mahogany grain, and the completed desk is fitted with solid brass drawer pulls.

Chests can be built to client specifications in a range of sizes, styles and wood species, including walnut, tiger maple, flame birch, cherry, white oak and mahogany.
