The walnut and cherry beds shown are both queen size and are available to order in any mattress size. Other wood choices such a tiger maple, flame birch or mahogany. The posts are turned by hand from three-inch-thick solid stock sourced from the same tree for consistent color and grain. The walnut headboard is made from a single wide board featuring dramatic crotch figure, while the cherry headboard is constructed from a carefully matched two-board panel. The walnut example includes a footboard; the cherry example does not. Traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery, secured with heavy bed bolts, creates a strong, long-lasting structure. Thick solid rails add rigidity. Each bed is custom built to suit your mattress thickness and preferred bedding height. The slat system eliminates the need for a box spring, and the bed is finished with multiple coats of hand-rubbed shellac. Other bed designs can be viewed here.
