This Philadelphia piecrust tea table, made by Irion Company Furniture Makers, is built in solid walnut using traditional 18th century construction methods. The base features hand shaped cabriole legs with hand carved ball and claw feet, joined to the hand turned column with sliding dovetails.

The top is crafted from a single 24 inch wide walnut crotch board that features excellent figure. It is dished out to form a delicate, raised hand carved piecrust edge along the border. The top rests on a fully functional birdcage mechanism, allowing the table to both rotate and tilt vertically for storage. The piece is finished with several coats of hand rubbed shellac to protect the wood and highlight the grain.

This table stands 27.5 inches tall and is in stock and available for immediate purchase in very good to excellent condition with no major dents or flaws. It shows some very light, minor surface scratches and scuffs from normal light use. These marks are difficult to see, remain strictly on the surface, and have not penetrated the finish or altered the wood color. The birdcage mechanism works perfectly.
