Philadelphia Piecrust Tea Table T165
This Philadelphia piecrust tea table in walnut is built just as the originals were, using hand shaped cabriole legs with hand carved ball and claw feet joined to the hand turned column with sliding dovetails. The carved and fluted column and knees are executed entirely by hand. The top is made from a single 30" wide walnut crotch board and is dished to allow for the delicate raised hand carved piecrust edge. The top is supported by a birdcage mechanism, which allows it to rotate and tilt. The finish is completed with several coats of hand rubbed shellac. Tables can be custom built to your specifications in a variety of sizes and wood species, including walnut, tiger maple, flame birch, cherry, and mahogany.
