Custom Dining Table with Leaves T123A

This expanding custom dining table is shown in walnut at 36" x 66", expanding to 84" with one 18" leaf. The legs are hand turned from three inch thick walnut stock, and the aprons are joined to the legs using deep mortise and tenon joinery. The top is made from matching tiger maple boards from the same tree for consistent color and grain, and the edges of the top and leaves are aligned with carefully fit mortise and tenons. Unlike commonly used dowels, mortise and tenons align the top and leaves precisely while also adding structural strength. The table is completed with several coats of hand rubbed shellac and lacquer. Tables can be custom built to your specifications in a variety of sizes and wood species, including tiger maple, flame birch, walnut, cherry, and mahogany.
