Cannonball Bed B16

This heavy post cannonball bed is shown in tiger maple in a queen size and is available to order in any mattress size and a range of wood species, including walnut, cherry, and mahogany. Each post is turned by hand from four-inch-thick heavy stock sourced from the same tree for consistent color and grain. The headboard is made from carefully matched boards. Traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery, secured with heavy bed bolts, creates an exceptionally strong structure built to last for generations. Thick, solid rails add rigidity. Every bed is custom built to suit your mattress thickness and preferred bedding height. The slat system eliminates the need for a box spring, and the bed is finished with multiple coats of hand-rubbed shellac. The bed pictured was built and finished by my colleague, Jonathan Sanbuichi.
